The bumper incorporates two
class III receiver tubes. These tubes will serve many functions including
jacking points for the Hi-Lift jack and anchor points for recovery
shackles. I also plan to make a "hoop" that will mount into the receivers
and rise up above the hood line. When I carry my canoe on the roof rack,
this will allow me to run a strap from the front of my canoe to the front
of the truck without rubbing the strap on the hood. |

Just a few pictures of the
finished installation with some fresh paint. Note the clear corner lenses.
In the picture to the left, the parking lights are on, and the amber bulbs
make the lenses "appear" to be amber. But, as you will see in the pictures
below, they are as clear as the headlamp lenses. |
Here are the receiver shackle brackets
installed. I know of two companies that make these, (although there may be
others) Warn Industries, and Genuine Steel Products (makers of the "Canyon
Crawler" line). I have the Warn units with 3/4" shackles (part #29312),
and use a 5/8" hitch pin with a swivel-type keeper. |

The shackles can also double as attachment
points for the Hi-Lift Jack. |
